It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Zoila Villanueva, who quietly departed this life on April 19, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June 27, 1935, in Anahuac, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, Zoila led a life marked by resilience, warmth, and an unwavering spirit. Her journey began as a migrant worker in California, where she embraced the challenges of life with grace and tenacity.
Zoila was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy, and she celebrated each milestone in their lives with boundless love and support. A nurturing presence, she instilled in her loved ones the values of hard work, compassion, and joy.
An avid gardener, Zoila found solace and beauty in the earth, cultivating vibrant flowers and plants. Her love for travel allowed her to explore new horizons and create cherished memories with her family. In her kitchen, she crafted beloved recipes, filling her home with the aromas and flavors that brought comfort and togetherness. A lover of music, she found joy in singing and dancing.
Zoila's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her not only for her boundless love and devotion but also for her vivacious spirit and zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Esther Villanueva; and her siblings, Maria Villanueva and Abraham Villanueva.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Martha (Ricardo H.) Alvarez Sr., Marco Antonio (Felicia Gonzalez) Villanueva-Fuentes; grandchildren, Zoe Miranda Alvarez, Ricardo H. Alvarez II, Leonardo (Brenda) Alvarez, Jose Alberto Alvarez; great-grandchildren, Aramis Alvarez and Ethan Alvarez; sister, Josefina Molina. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 2pm to 5pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a prayer service will commence at 3pm.
A private cremation will be held at a later date.
