"Zita" Rhode

Zita Alicia Paz Rhode, 69, was called home by our heavenly father on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Since early in her life, Zita learned ways to overcome hardships. Even after suffering the great loss of her husband, daughter Camille and her mother, she slowly regained strength to persevere each and every time. Zita was a brave breast cancer survivor and more recently she was courageously battling heart disease among other illnesses. She was a loyal friend and loving and giving grandmother. As a single mother she did her very best to be both mother and father to her children. On her last days, she was lovingly surrounded by all her children, grandchildren and close family and friends. She left this earth in a peaceful slumber. Zita will always be remembered as a strong-willed, hardworking, sincere woman to those who knew and loved her She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Rhode; mother, Adelaida Paz; and daughter, Camille Dawn Rhode. Zita is survived by her beloved children, Tanya (Agustin) Torres-Hernandez Jr., David F. (Jamie) Rhode, Tarabeth (Issac) Hernandez; grandchildren, Juan Antonio Luna II, Aaric Alejandro Tays, Araneh Camille Hernandez, Emorey Lorraine Luna, Javier Antonio Macias; and brother, David C. (Janet A.) Paz. She is further survived by numerous other loved relatives and friends. The family received condolences on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez; with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held this morning, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 departing the funeral home at 8 a.m. to San Luis Rey Catholic Church, 3502 Saunders Ave, Laredo TX, 78040, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be: Agustin Hernandez, Jr., Aaric A. Tays, Juan Antonio Luna, David Frank Rhode, Ricky Ray Hernandez, Issac Hernandez, Javier Antonio Macias, and Fabian Santamaria. Honorary Pallbearer is: Sayden Dakota Rhode.
