Mr. Zeferino J. Medina, 73, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Friday, November 15, 2019.
Zeferino J. Medina graduated from Martin High School Class of ’65, served in Vietnam, and worked as a U.S. Customs Supervisor. Although he and his family lived many years away from his hometown, his heart was always here in Laredo. After retiring, he returned to Laredo and spent time performing at various nursing homes by accompanying a local band on acoustic guitar, co-teaching Sunday school, and enjoying his family. He fulfilled many roles in his life to many people: son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, uncle, friend, mentor, teacher, and spiritual guide. The legacy he lives behind includes a strong, unwavering faith, devotion to his family, quick wit, generous spirit, and an artist’s eye.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Rafael and Maria de Jesus Medina; sisters: Magdalena Leal and Susana Campos; and brothers: Raymundo Medina, Mario Medina, and Adan Guadalupe Medina.
His memory will be cherished by his family: his beloved wife, Audelia R. Medina; daughter, Delia (Manuel) Medina-Valadez; sisters: Genoveva Alvarado and Teresa de Jesus Fonseca; and brothers: Domingo Medina, Ramon Medina, and Vidal Medina.
