Zaky Charles Kafati

Zaky Charles Kafati, 67, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. 

Zaky was known for his joyful spirit and unique personal interests. Zaky found fulfillment in his passions. His love for painting and lively dance sessions to the music of Tom Jones brought light to those around him. Friends and family will remember him fondly for his vibrant costumes on Halloween, showcasing his playful nature.

Zaky had a special affection for shopping, particularly for stylish tennis shoes, and was known for his simple yet beloved culinary favorites, including hamburgers, fries, pizza, and a generous helping of ketchup. He delighted in sweet treats, often indulging in doughnuts, cake, and ice cream bars, which brought him joy and comfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Kafati, and Maria Kafati. 

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Samir (Maggie) Kafati, Kamel (Betita) Kafati, Jacobo († Patty) Kafati, Adib (Jenny) Kafati, Nadim Kafati, Anis (Nidia) Kafati, Mary Kafati, and Alma Kafati (Jose) Berlioz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, February 9, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday morning, February 10, 2025 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. John Neumann Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be: Jacobo Kafati, Joseph Kafati, Nadim Kafati, Jose Lazo, Christopher Berlioz, and Jose Berlioz.
