WILLIAM CECIL “BILLY” SIMPSON II
Our Almighty Father called upon his angel, William C. Simpson II, on Thursday, February 8, 2018. God granted “Billy” a life well lived. His God given gifts served so many people as he was a true public servant, a friend to many, and a source of inspiration for his courage. Billy was God’s servant. For every blessing granted to Billy, including his beloved wife Claudia, he offered his praise and thanksgiving.
He was predeceased by his father, William C. Simpson I, and his father-in-law, Benjamin Botello.
He is survived by his loving wife Claudia A. Botello Simpson and family; mother Minerva M. Simpson; sister Janith K. Mills; brother Jerry (Elizabeth) Mills, Jr.; mother-in-law Idalia H. Botello, Veronica (Raul) Ramirez, Adriana (Hans) Nunemaker, Benjamin (Marianela) Botello, Raquel (Juan) Ramon, Jorge Luis Botello and Miguel M. (Cynthia) Montemayor, as well as by numerous beloved nephews, nieces.
Billy was a Police Office/Corporal with the University of Texas Health Science Center (Laredo Campus) Police Department. He was also a proud volunteer Firefighter with the Webb County Fire Department.
We extend our warm gratitude to ALL the various law enforcement and firefighting agencies between San Antonio and Laredo that escorted him home as well as to those who honored him along the I-35 corridor.
Our heartfelt and special thanks are expressed to the UT Health Science Center Campus Police Department Family Assistance Unit, Mike Parks, Police Chief and Commander George Pettit, for their unrelenting support.
The family will receive condolences on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary being offered at 7 p.m.
Funeral cortege will depart at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from the funeral chapel to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 555 E. Del Mar Blvd for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Mark Dominquez, Jose Ramirez, Mark Vasquez, Leo Gonzalez, Hector Gutierrez and Mario Leija.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Mike Parks, George Pettit, Roberto J. Ramirez and Juan Francisco Ramon.
