WILLIAM THOMAS "BILL" JACKSON APRIL 26, 1933 - AUGUST 19, 2014 William Thomas "Bill" Jackson, born on April 26, 1933 to H. L. and Emma B. Jackson, passed away on August 19, 2014 at the age of 81. He was a very kind-hearted man, and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone he met. He loved his Lord above all and now rests with Him peacefully. Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, he married the love of his life, Pauline Ligarde Jackson. They moved to Pearsall in 1968 where he owned Jackson Funeral Home and purchased a ranch that he loved dearly and still owns. His greatest loves were the Lord, his family, and the time he spent surrounded by family and friends. He was always giving of himself to provide for others. He was a successful businessman and rancher and loved everything about South Texas. William is preceded in death by his parents: H. L. and Emma Jackson; brothers: Henry C. Jackson, Joseph M. (Mary T.) Jackson; sisters: Elizabeth Ann (Monroe) Chapman, Katherine (Jack) Martin; brother-in-law: Everette Clark; nephews: Charles Bradley "Brad" Jackson, Kenneth "Kenny" Clark, and niece: Susan Ann "Suzy" Martin. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Ligarde Jackson of 58 years; his children: Bill (Kathy) Jackson, Rhonda (Michael) Christensen, Cherie (Kevin) Noles, Denise Jackson and Rodney Burns; grandchildren: Bryan, Lacey, Melissa, Jackson, and great granddaughter, Riley; sister: Lucy Clark from Uvalde, Texas, and sister-in-law: Bettye Jackson from Kerville, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the family and friends and the nurses at Methodist Hospital ICU for their love and care during this very difficult time of illness. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Hurley Funeral Home, 608 E. Trinity St., Pearsall, Texas, 78061, 830-334-3361. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 114 E. Frio St., Dilley, Texas, 78017, 830-965-1926. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow to the Jackson family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 3600 McPherson Rd., Laredo, Texas, 78041.
