William IV

William H. McKendrick, IV, 47, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, December 29, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas with his sisters Georgeann McKendrick and Courtney McKendrick Green at his side.

William was born in San Antonio, Texas and moved with the family to Laredo in 1971. He attended Blessed Sacrament School, St. Augustine and United High School. Athletically inclined, William played baseball, football, and especially enjoyed Moto Cross Racing.

He lived in San Antonio the greater part of his adult life where he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a Nurse. His knowledge of medicine and his love of people quickly made him a sought after employee. His patience and loving touch endeared him to patients and family members alike. He enjoyed working in a hospital environment and established great rapport with his fellow workers.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. William H. McKendrick, Jr. and Mrs. Lois Myers McKendrick; his maternal grandparents, Lic. Tristan Canales Valverde of Mexico City and Mrs. Maria Luisa Garza Lozano Canales; and his uncle John Stephen McKendrick.

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Mann McKendrick, and his granddaughter Kya Ritchie, of Austin, his son William Hudson McKendrick, V, of San Antonio, his parents Mr. & Mrs. William H. McKendrick, III, sisters Courtney (Paul) McKendrick Green, Georgeann McKendrick, his niece Andrea Renee Vera and nephew Ethan Henry Green all of San Antonio and ex-brother-in-law, Vicente Vera, Jr. of Laredo. He is also survived by numerous cousins and other relatives.
