Veronica E. Rubio, 83, is now in the presence of God on Saturday, January 18, 2025 and our prayers still carry the same strength for her to be called soon to His eternal mansion.
Veronica E. Rubio, a beloved wife, mother, and educator, passed away after a lifetime filled with love and dedication. She was married to her cherished husband for 63 years, sharing a bond that was both unwavering and filled with joy. For 40 years, Veronica taught in the Laredo Independent School District (LISD), leaving an indelible mark on the lives of her students and colleagues.
Outside of her professional life, Veronica had a passion for her family and God. She loved going to the movies, often enjoying the magic of cinema with those she loved. A gifted writer, Veronica found joy in expressing her thoughts and emotions through poetry. She was also known for her warm hospitality, often hosting gatherings and parties that brought friends and family together.
Veronica's love for her family and her zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of teaching, creativity, and devotion to her loved ones will continue to inspire for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alberto J. Esparza and Aurora Esparza; her siblings, Benito Esparza, Betito Esparza, and Wayo Esparza.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Alberto Rubio; her children, Alberto (Hilda G.) Rubio, II., Gabriel (Della) Rubio, Lourdes (Kenneth) Mann, Noemi (Darren) Becker, and Cassandra Rubio; her grandchildren, Albert, Hilary, Adrian (Alexis), Joshua (Colleen), Tyler, Megan (Spencer), Samantha, Vanessa, Darren, Jr., Amanda, and Jacob; her great-granddaughter, Liliana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Friday morning, February 14, 2025 at 8 a.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 9:30 a.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning, February 14, 2025 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m.
Rite of Committal and Inurnment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11:30am.
Pallbearers will be: Alberto Rubio, II., Gabriel Rubio, Alberto Rubio, III., Joshua Mann, Tyler Mann, Adrian Rubio, Darren Becker, Jr., and Jacob Becker.
