It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Ulises Vargas, born on May 14, 2003, who departed from this world on January 11, 2025 at the age of 21. Ulises was a cherished son, a wonderful brother, an amazing grandson, an uncle, a beloved friend, and a radiant soul whose light touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though his time with us was far too brief, Ulises leaves behind a legacy of compassion and joy. He possessed a remarkable ability to foster connections, and his laughter will echo in the hearts of friends and family alike. The impact of his presence created a ripple effect of positivity that will not be forgotten. As we mourn the loss of Ulises Vargas, let us also celebrate the precious time we were fortunate to share with him. May his spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts, guiding us with the love and kindness he so freely offered to others.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Mario Luis Vargas, Sr., maternal grandmother, Olga E. Ruiz, and his uncle, Eduardo Ruiz.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Mario L. and Laura E. Vargas, brothers, Mario Luis (Mariana Sarquiz) Vargas III, Estevan Vargas, nephew, Ethan Manuel Vargas, paternal grandmother, Irma Gutierrez, maternal grandfather, Francisco Antonio Ruiz, paternal aunt and uncles, Eduardo (Amanda) Jimenez, Claudia (Jorge Hernandez) Jimenez, Roberto (Alma) Jimenez, maternal aunt and uncles, Sonia Ruiz, Francisco (Patricia) Ruiz, Gerardo (Antonia) Ruiz, as well as numerous cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday evening, January 14, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Santo Niño Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Mario L. Vargas, III, Esteban Vargas, Freddy Villarreal, Andy Cisneros, Louie Becerra, Jr., Danny Dominguez, Damian Martinez and Roel Sosa.
