 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Trinidad Castor Silva, 95, a devoted woman of faith and a beloved member of the Laredo community. Born in Laredo, Texas on May 26, 1929, Mrs. Silva’s kind and caring nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a woman of humble beginnings, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.

Mrs. Silva dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a compassionate and nurturing care-taker. Her sewing skills were a reflection of her artistic talents, with intricate designs adorning her own gowns and those she created for others. In her leisure time, she found solace in watching novellas, allowing the dramatic tales to transport her to another world and she also enjoyed embroidery.

A faithful Catholic, Mrs. Silva had a special devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and Virgen de San Juan, finding comfort and strength in her faith. Her love for birds and plants was evident in the care and attention she bestowed upon them, nurturing life in all its forms. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Alberto Silva, Sr.; her parents, Ricardo and San Juanita Castor; brothers and sisters, Geneva Castillo, Hortencia Castor, Ricardo Castor, Lucio Castor, Fernando Castor; and other sisters and brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Guadalupe Alberto Silva, Jr., along with nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. 

The family will be receiving condolences on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning, August 28, 2024 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to Holy Family Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Con profundo dolor anunciamos el fallecimiento de la Sra. Trinidad Castor Silva, una mujer de fe devota y un miembro querida de la comunidad de Laredo. Nacida en Laredo, Texas, el 26 de mayo de 1929, la naturaleza amable y bondadosa de la Sra. Silva tocó la vida de todos los que la conocieron. Era una mujer de orígenes humildes, encontrando alegría en los placeres simples de la vida.

La Sra. Silva dedicó su vida a cuidar de los demás, trabajando como una cuidadora compasiva y afectuosa. Sus habilidades de costura eran un reflejo de sus talentos artísticos, con diseños intrincados adornando sus propios vestidos y aquellos que creó para los demás. En su tiempo libre, encontraba consuelo al ver telenovelas, permitiendo que las historias dramáticas la transportaran a otro mundo, y también disfrutaba del bordado.

Una católica ferviente, la señora Silva tenía una devoción especial a la Virgen de Guadalupe y a la Virgen de San Juan, encontrando consuelo y fortaleza en su fe. Su amor por las aves y las plantas era evidente en el cuidado y la atención que les brindaba, nutriendo la vida en todas sus formas.

Le preceden en muerte su esposo, Guadalupe Alberto Silva, Sr.; padre y madre, Ricardo y San Juanita Castor; hermanos y hermanas, Geneva Castillo, Hortencia Castor, Ricardo Castor, Lucio Castor, Fernando Castor, y además hermanas y hermanos.

Con profundo dolor le acompañan su hijo, Guadalupe Alberto Silva, Jr., sobrinas, sobrinos, además familiares y amigos.

El duelo se recibe el día martes 27 de agosto del 2024 de 5 p.m. hasta las 9 p.m. en la Capilla Fúnebre de Joe Jackson Heights, 719 Loring at Cortez; donde comenzara una Vigilia y el Rosario a las 6:30 de la tarde.

Los servicios funerales se llevarán a cabo el miércoles por la mañana, 28 de agosto del 2024, saliendo a las 8:30 a.m. desde la Capilla Fúnebre Joe Jackson Heights hasta la Iglesia Católica de Holy Family, para una Misa de Cuerpo Presente a las 9:00 a.m.
