MARIA TRINIDAD NERICCIO (GARCIA) November 12, 1922 - February 14, 2015 Maria Trinidad Nericcio (Garcia) peacefully entered her Father's kingdom on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Laredo Texas at the age of 92. A lifelong resident of Laredo, Trinidad graduated from Martin High School and soon thereafter, joined the war effort during World War II. She worked for the Army Air Corps at U.S. Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi, Texas, as an Aircraft Worker in the Assembly and Repair Departmentyou may have heard of Rosie the Riveter, Nericcio was "Trini the Riveter" (and welder!). After the war, she returned to Laredo where she met and married William Nericcio. Trinidad worked for decades as a long distance telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and became an active and contributing member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She volunteered hours of community service for Christ the King Church, the parish in which she served. She is remembered by her family as a loving mother and wife, strong-willed, but fair, funny, smart and always eager to learnshe was a lifelong reader and an excellent writer. She loved crossword puzzles and games and playing Scrabble with her family. She adored the singing of Placido Domingo, Mario Lanza, Elvis Presley, and Luciano Pavarotti, shopping for new and interesting gadgets, and anything, absolutely everything to do with cats (especially her beloved "Patches"). She was preceded in death by her husband William Nericcio (d. April 2007), and her mother, Anastasia Caamar Garcia. She is survived by daughters, Dr. Mary Anne Nericcio (Norman Dale Williams) of Austin, Texas, Josephine Veronica Nericcio, of Los Angeles, California, and son, Dr. William Anthony Nericcio (Rosalinda Nericcio) of San Diego, California, brother, Eduardo Cuellar of Maryland and grandchildren, Will Williams, Lorenzo Antonio Nericcio and Sophia Alessandra Nericcio. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be recited at 7 in the evening. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 19, 2015 departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adan Gonzalez, Henry Alexander, Norman Dale Williams, Will Williams, Lorenzo Nericcio, and William A. Nericcio.
