Toribio G. Cantu

September 17, 1931-January 15, 2021

Mr. Toribio G. Cantu, 89, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Mr. Cantu enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 17, where he served for over 20 years and further participated in the Korean and Vietnam War.  Upon returning to his home town he worked with the City of Laredo with the Traffic Division where he retired after 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rodolfo and Eusebia Cantu; his wife Josefina Cantu; his sons, Anthony Cantu, Orlando (Mary) Cantu; siblings, Leonardo Cantu, San Juanita Cantu, Eusebia Cantu, Graciela Arce, and Rodolfo Cantu.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Steve (Yvonne) Cantu, Daniel L. Cantu, Sabrina (Sergio) Salazar, Rose Flores, Reno (Sara) Cantu, Norma Jean Castillo, Esmeralda (Ricardo) Olivo, and Christie (Mathew) LeClair.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Monday evening, January 18, 2021 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels the Laredo City Cemetery for a graveside service and interment at 9:00 a.m.
