Thomas Johnson Jr.

Thomas W. Johnson, Jr. age 73 of San Antonio died Monday, July 23, 2012. He was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. As a teenager, Tom started and maintained a successful apiary and bee products distribution company which galvanized his strong and enduring entrepreneurial spirit. He was an avid Boy Scout with a passion for hunting and other outdoor activities. Tom attended Laredo Junior College and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. His resume included a wide variety of work and managerial positions. Tom lived and worked in San Antonio since 1970 and later co-founded Star Cab Co-op.

He was a good, compassionate and courageous man with a wonderful sense of humor.-Fluent in English and Spanish, he was proud of his Texan Scotch-Irish and Mexican-Spanish heritage. Tom was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His greatest sense of achievement and pride was seeing his children and
grandchildren succeed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. "Tommy" and Beatriz F. Johnson; and his brother Richard "Dickey" Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Tommy Johnson, III and wife, Tami, Alan Johnson, Virginia DeNisio, Lara Brin and husband, Barry, and Judy's daughters, Charlotte Herman and husband, Burney and Sheila Blake; grandchildren, Sydney and Cortland DeNisio, Davis and Ashley Brin, Cooper and Audrey Johnson, Patrick and Payton Herman and Sydney and Dylan Blake; brother, George Johnson and wife, Ella; sister, Beatrice Harrison and husband, Burt; numerous nieces and nephews.
