Teresa Quintanilla

October 15, 1958 - February 19, 2024

Mrs. Teresa Quintanilla, beloved mother, grandmother, cherished sister, and devoted friend, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the age of 65. 

Throughout her career as an educator for U.I.S.D., particularly at Salvador Garcia Middle School, Teresa exemplified dedication and passion in shaping young minds.  

Outside of her professional life, Teresa was a beacon of love and joy to her family and friends. She found immense happiness in being a loving mother and grandmother. Known for her vibrant spirit, Teresa enjoyed indulging in friendly games of loteria and bingo, always bringing laughter to those around her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Artemio and Esperanza Barrera; husband, Ernesto Quintanilla Sr.; brother, Gregorio Artemio Barrera, and sister Ana Maria (Raymundo Alfonso) Torres.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ernesto Quintanilla Jr., Andrea Acassia Quintanilla; grandson, Ernesto Jeshua Quintanilla; two grandkitties, Kai and Kacy; sisters, Julia (Robert) Wolk, Dora (Gilbert) Ramirez, Dolores Canales; brother, Juan Artemio (Silvia) Barrera Jr.; and sister-in-law, Rosa Maria Barrera. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. 

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, February 22, 2024, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 6 p.m.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
