Stella Cronfel

Stella Cronfel died Monday May 14th.-Born in Tela, Honduras, her family moved to Laredo in the late 1930's where she was a lifetime resident until her death.- She graduated as valedictorian from St. Augustine School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Texas in Austin, in 1956.-

Her career began in Houston, Texas where she was the chief pharmacist of a retail establishment. She later returned home to become one of the first female pharmacists in Laredo.-She was very dedicated to her profession which she practiced with love and dedication for over 40 years.-

Stella was very close to her faith which she practiced with great devotion for her entire life.-She was truly a child of God, very spiritual and kind.-She was a gentle and loving daughter, sister and friend.-She was loved by all who knew her and she will be deeply missed by her sisters, her nieces, nephews and friends.

Stella was preceded in death by her father and mother George and Sara Cronfel, beloved aunt Rafaela Leyva, nephew Dr. Miguel Ochoa, and niece Dr. Marissa C. Keene.

She is survived by her sisters, Argentina Cronfel Meurer, Ada Cronfel, Sarah Cronfel Ochoa, Gladys (Roger Hampton) Cronfel Keene, nephews and nieces Guillermo Ochoa-Cronfel, Sophia (Guillermo) Ochoa-Martinez, Ricardo A. Ochoa, George Russel (Belinda) Meurer, Frank (Valerie) Meurer, Mark A. Keene, and her grand nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to D0r. Ralph Nimchan, Dr. Rafael Deliz, as well as the nurses and staff of Laredo Medical Center, and her caregivers Maria de la Paz and Alicia.
