Sonya I. Hernandez, 46, was called to be with the Lord on Monday, February 25, 2013.-She was surrounded by her loving family.-

Sonya was born to Mr. Santos Costilla and the late Adriana Costilla on February 07, 1967.-She married Luis F. Hernandez and devoted her life to raising her 3 children in the ways of the Lord.-Sonya always instilled in her children that they could do all things through Christ who strengthened them. (Phil. 4:13)-
Sonya's life was a living example of her faith in God and many came to know the Lord because of her sweet and gentle spirit.-She leaves behind a legacy of the Fruits of the Spirit which includes love, joy, kindness, patience, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.-Everyday Sonya reminded her family, friends and co-workers" "this is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it"".-

Sonya is preceded in death by her mom, Adriana Costilla, her aunt Gloria Costilla, and her grandfather, Santos Costilla, Sr.-
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband that never left her side, Luis F. Hernandez, and her beautiful daughter, Rebekah and sons, Jacob and Jonah Hernandez.-She is also survived by her dad, Santos (Laura) Costilla, and her four sisters who will dearly miss her, Abby (Mark) Willett, Adriana (Juan) Lozano, Veronica (Joe) Flores, and Gloria (Carlos) Villarreal.-Also surviving her is her special cousin, Ana (Marco) Fuentes, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews that she adored.-
Special thanks go to Yoly Guzman and Sandra Carrillo for their unwavering care and comfort and to her fellow counselors, librarian and other co-worker friends for their compassionate love towards her children.
Pallbearers will be brothers-in-law, Mark Willett, Juan Lozano, Joe Flores, Carlos Villarreal, and cousins, Elijah Fuentes and Rudy Pena.
