Mrs. Soledad L. Tays, 95, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, July 10, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband, German F. Tays; parents, Juan and Cayetana Huerta; and aunt, Francisca Huerta.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda Evelyn Tays, Mary F. (Herbie †) Stendebach, Juan Miguel (Susan †) Lumbreras; 6 grandchildren, Jorge Alberto (Carmen) Contreras, Jr., Elizabeth Marie Olmedo, Rafael David Hinojosa II, Victoria Soledad Lumbreras, Warren Michael Lumbreras, Juan Miguel (Laura) Lumbreras II; 7 great-grandchildren, Cecilia Ann Contreras, Julie Amanda Contreras (Marcos) Rayas, Cheyenna E. Olmedo, Ruben Joseph Olmedo, Camila Contreras, Antonio Contreras, and Avery Lumbreras.  She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Sunday evening, July 16, 2023, from 5pm to 9pm at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday morning, July 17, 2023, departing at 9:00 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jorge Alberto Contreras, Rafael David Hinojosa II, Juan Miguel Lumbreras II., Warren M. Lumbreras, Ruben Joseph Olmedo, Marcos Rayas, Agustin Olmedo, and Ruben Arredondo.
