SFC FRANKLIN DELANO RIVERA, US ARMY RETIRED
JANUARY 4, 1942 – NOVEMBER 29, 2018

Sergeant First Class Franklin Delano Rivera, US Army Retired, 76, answered the Lord’s call on Thursday, November 29, 2018, having been faithfully surrounded by his loving and caring family by his side.

He is preceded in death by his parent’s: Elidio and Felicita Rivera; siblings: Pedro Rivera, Juan Rivera and Yvette Rivera

Left behind to cherish his memories are his beloved spouse of 56 years of marriage: Elisa G. Rivera; daughter’s: Ana (Pedro, Jr.) Rivera-Soto, Elizabeth (Sigifredo III) Perez, Susan Rivera; grandchildren: Ruben Jaime Castro, Jr., Carolina Ysabel Castro, Belithe Alexandra Soto, Elisabel Carrera, Sigifredo Perez IV, Sofia Alixandra Perez, Isabela Andrea Barrientos, Estevan Barrientos; great-granddaughter: Lizbeth Castro.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd. Visiting Hours will be from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. A Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will offered at 7 p.m.

Funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment with Full Military Honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard as well as the American Legion Post 59 will follow at the Veteran’s Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Pedro Soto, Jr., Ruben Jaime Castro, Jr., Carolina Ysabel Castro, Sigifredo Perez, III, Sigifredo Perez IV, and Estevan Barrientos.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Pedro Soto, Sr.; Servando Benavides, Felix Garcia, Servando Ramirez, Hank Sames, Javier Gonzalez, Antonio Gamez, Jaime Gutierrez, Jose Salinas, and Jesse Quijano.

The family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation and esteem to Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa, M.D., Dr. Benson Huang, M.D.; and all of the caring and committed staff at Laredo Medical Center Intensive Care Unit.
