Scott Andrew Mattson, 56, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
In 1985, Scott bravely answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army. As a dedicated soldier, he exhibited exceptional skills and dedication, earning several medals for his exemplary service. Scott's marksmanship prowess was recognized, as he received the sharpshooter qualification badge for both the M16 rifle and hand grenade. His commitment to the military culminated in the prestigious Army Service Ribbon, an accolade acknowledging his remarkable dedication to duty.
In his spare time, Scott found solace in the beauty of nature. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, often seen feeding the birds, immersing himself in literature, and embarking on long walks that allowed him to contemplate life's wonders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Carol Mattson.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life, his wife, Diana Heredia Mattson; his children, Matthew Mattson, Jonathan Mattson, Jordan Mattson, and Andrew Mattson; his mother-in-law, Manuela Villarreal; his brother-in-law, Jim Shannon; his brother, Ray (Barbara) McLennan; his sister, Renee (Dan) Cunningham as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
