Sarita Cavazos Ochoa entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 5, 2012. Sarita was born on the King Ranch, October 27, 1924 where her father was foreman of the Santa Gertrudis Division of the King Ranch.
She attended Henrietta King High School and graduated from Texas A & I University in Kingsville. She later moved to Laredo where she married Albert Richard Ochoa "Coach de Oro". After 37 years of teaching as a Home Economics teacher, Sarita retired from the Educational System in 1989.
Sarita was as active member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she was President of the Blessed Sacrament Altar Society. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association and other local community organizations.
She was preceded in death by her father Lauro F. Cavazos Sr. and her mother, Tomasa Quintanilla Cavazos.
Sarita is survived by her sons, Robert L. "Bobby" (Annie) Ochoa, Thomas L. "Tommy" (Rosie) Ochoa, Albert R. "Beto" (Diana) Ochoa, Fredrick W. "Fred" (Mary Lou) Ochoa; grandchildren, Nicole Marie, Robert Lawrence, Christine Frances, Andrew Thomas, Anthony Alexander; brothers, Dr. Lauro F. "Larry" (Peggy) Cavazos Jr., General Richard E. "Dick" (Caroline) Cavazos, Robert J. "Bobby" (Nancy) Cavazos, Joseph A. "Joe" (Dean) Cavazos; and many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.-Especially her close retired friends from Lamar Middle School and Martin High School and her many "comadres".
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jose R. Garcia and staff, Dr. Grace Nukamana and staff, Dr. Carlos Cigarroa and staff, Doctors Hospital, and her caregivers Debbie and Juani for their gentle kindness and care given to Sarita.
