Little Indian, Mother, daughter, sister, wife. --Sara Alicia Perez O'Bryant (Sarita) lived her entire life in Laredo. She never ventured very far, rather preferring to stay close to home where she died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 53.
Born August 13, 1959, she was the daughter of Simplicio S. Perez and the late Elsa Rodriguez Perez (Elsie). Sara was married to Roland O'Bryant Jr for 32 years and was the proud mother of two beautiful children: daughter, Elizabeth Ashley and son, Christopher Neal. She was sister to Elsa Leticia (Letty) and the loving grandmother to Rene Ambrose ,Juan Enrique Rodriguez Jr., Natalia Giselle Rodriguez, Christopher Neal O'Bryant Jr., Roland Daniel O'Bryant, Alexis Nicole O'Bryant, James Rodriguez and Perla Alejandra Rodriguez.
As a child Sara attended Urseline Academy where she challenged many nuns and forged lifetime friendships. Sara attended Nixon High and earned an associated degree from Laredo Junior College in Early childhood development. Sara was employed for a few years with Laredo Independent School District and was later self employed until her passing.
Sara worked tirelessly at her family owned business Border Bail Bonds. Both her business and personal doors were always open to everyone and anyone. Giving in nature, she was willing and wanted to help those in need, from her Thanksgiving Giveaway, where she and her family gave turkeys to anyone who dropped by the office, to the Christmas Gifts for Children annual event.
Sara was always planning the next toy drive or turkey give away. She gave generously and gave often, reminding us always that for those who are fortunate and have there will always be gifts under the tree and food on the table, it was those in need she was looking after.
Sarita, as she was called by many, walked alongside you, she never felt more important or less than. Everyone could be a friend it mattered little your station in life. She could dine in style or eat off a paper plate and felt at home doing both.
Sarita was not afraid of anything, ever. If asked to quiet down, she spoke louder. Hers was a generous soul, she gave of herself to everyone and anyone.
Our Little Indian is gone, she is free and has gone to heaven.
Our beloved Sarita always was a caring and thoughtful person and in keeping her wishes, we would like to invite you to in lieu of flowers make a heartfelt donation to Casa Misericordia in her memory.
