Sandra Medina

Sandra Mae Farmer Medina, 63, of Laredo, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013. She was born August 21, 1950, in Laredo, Texas, the daughter of Ones Carl and Angelita Cruz Farmer. Sandra graduated from J. W. Nixon High School with the class of 1969 and then pursued her education in Cosmetology at Magic Valley Beauty College in Edinburg, Texas. On November 27, 1971, she was united in marriage to Rafael Medina, her high school sweetheart. Before retiring, Sandra loved her job as an instructor at the Laredo Beauty College where she worked for over 35 years. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Sandra enjoyed spending her spare time traveling, gaming, and weekend barbequing with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ones Carl and Angelita Cruz Farmer. She is survived by her husband Rafael Medina, her three children Ones Rafael, Carl Simon, Kimberly Angela (Alexis) Gonzalez, her sister Gloria Jean Farmer; and her six grandchildren, Melany Nicole Medina, Ones Rafael Medina II, Glorian Gean "Gigi" Medina, Zoey Alexa Gonzalez, Sophie Mae Gonzalez, and Danielle Amelie Gonzalez. Sandra is also survived by her uncle and aunt Herb and Gloria Best and numerous in-laws and cousins. The family will receive condolences on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Joe Jackson Springfield Funeral Chapel, 1900 Springfield Ave, from 6 to 9 in the evening with a Rosary to be recited at 7. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at San Luis Rey Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. All attending the funeral are asked to meet at the church. There will be no procession.
