Ruben Rangel, Sr., 69, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Monday, April 1, 2024.
Ruben was a beloved member of the community, known for his dedication to education and his passion for helping others. Throughout his 44-year career in the school district, Ruben touched the lives of countless students and educators as a teacher, coach, and administrator. His impact extended far beyond the classroom, as he was a mentor and friend to many. After retiring as the Assistant Principal from Lyndon B. Johnson High School, Ruben continued to support his wife, Lucy Rangel, in her work in medical billing, and cherished the time spent with his family.
A true sports aficionado, Ruben cheered passionately for his favorite teams, Texas A&M in college football, and the Cowboys in the NFL. He found solace and joy in spending time outdoors, embracing the beauty of nature.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Ruben Rangel, Jr., and Carlos Roberto Rangel; his parents Domingo and Guadalupe Rangel; siblings, Tomas Rangel and Audelia Rangel.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 17 years of marriage, Lucille C. Rangel; his children; Domingo Rene Rangel, Tomas Rogelio (Brittney Lyann) Rangel, Melissa Marie Gonzalez, and Priscilla Lee (Kevin) Treviño; grandchildren, Nathan Rangel, Tomas Rogelio Rangel, Jr., Adalynn Grace Rangel, Melanie Brielle Rangel, Gianna Marie Lozano, Kevin, Jr., Makayla and Kayleen Treviño, and Bella Rose Torres; siblings, Domingo (Silvia) Rangel, Yolanda (Martin) Macias, Angelina Rangel, and Irma (Ruben) Rangel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
