Mrs. Rosa Elena Morales, 69, entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, June 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving and caring family.
Mrs. Morales was born on June 3, 1954 to Humberto & Oralia Aguilera, Sr. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She married José Israel Morales, Jr. on June 14, 1974 and moved to New York City, where she lived for the next 7 years. Upon her return to Laredo, she began working at Despachos Del Norte, which became her extended family for 25 years. Mrs. Morales always enjoyed gathering with her close friends over dinner and other special events. A special thank you to her sister, Juana María “Twiggy” Aguilera; sister-in-law, María Consuelo Morales; friends, Becky Garza, Blanca Domínguez, Josie Narváez, and Graciela Elizondo, for always being there for her and her family.
Rosa Elena’s greatest treasure in life was her family. She never missed an occasion to celebrate their accomplishments and highlight their milestones. She was the family’s resident photographer, never missing the opportunity to capture the perfect photo in order to preserve precious memories. She was adventurous and enjoyed traveling to new locations and cruising on the open sea.
She instilled the value of preserving culture and traditions in her family and was a gifted storyteller. Her children and grandchildren brought her unparalleled pride and joy. While she will be greatly missed, her family rejoices in gaining her as the continued fierce protector and guardian angel that she was in life, now in everlasting life.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Humberto & Oralia Aguilera, Sr., and her mother-in-law, María Morales.
Left to cherish her memory are: her loving spouse, José Israel Morales, Jr.; children, José Israel (Silvia) Morales, III., Jessica Aimee (David) Dodier, and Marco Iván (Martha) Morales; grandchildren, José Israel Morales, IV., Julián Alexis Morales, Karla Lauren Pedraza, Karen Lynette Pedraza, Dylan Josephine Dodier, Alison Rose Dodier, Mariella Lucia Morales, Marianna Elise Morales, and Martinna Emilia Morales; sister, Juana María “Twiggy” Aguilera; brother, Humberto Aguilera, Jr.; and sister-in-law, María Consuelo Morales; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
