Rosa Hilda Morin
January 2, 1939-January 5, 2023
Rosa Hilda Morin (Flores-Constantino), 84, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, January 5, 2023, surrounded by the love of her children.
She was joyously welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by her beloved husband, José Ignacio Morin, her father, José Bacilio Flores-Garza, her beloved mother, Guadalupe Flores (Constantino-Luis), her brothers, José Ignacio Flores-Constantino, José Bacilio Flores-Constantino, and her sister, Leticia Flores-Constantino.
Her spirit is carried on by her family who she loved more than anything, including her children: Thelma (Ildefonso) Juarez, Ignacio Joe (Sandi) Morin, Sandra Lee Morin (Robert Vail), Linda (Richard) Schuchardt, Stacy Morin, Michelle (Javier) Lerma, and Lizette Morin; grandchildren, Javier (Shannon) Juarez, Romeo Juarez, Vanessa Lee (Thomas) McBryde, Derek Schuchardt, Javier Lerma, Jr., Gerardo Lerma, and Leslie Lerma; great-grandson Elijah Lerma; sisters, Alma Guadalupe Flores, Diana (Nagi) Mekhail, and Maria Luisa Flores; along with other loving relatives and friends.
Rosa had such a loving and giving heart and dedicated her life to helping others as a lifelong R.N. She loved learning and returned to school as an adult and received an M.S. in Natural Sciences from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU). She enjoyed staying physically active and practiced yoga, tennis, swimming, backgammon, power walking, and regularly won 5K runs in her age division, including one time where she ran in Birkenstocks. But Rosa’s greatest joy was music. She was a soprano and sang opera for many years in the Laredo Philharmonic Music Chorale, the LCC Chorale, and was part of the choir at the Church of the Crossroads, where she participated in many events throughout the years. She was also a huge fan of the easy listening station whose melodies could always be heard throughout her home and would play “Name that Tune” daily over morning coffee with her daughter, Lizette.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Pastors Norman and Sandra Howell and her church family at Church of the Crossroads. The Crossroads was the place where she most loved to be and brought her much joy and happiness throughout the years. A very special thanks to Pastor Sandra Howell for her prayer and fellowship with Rosa the day before she passed; her presence not only provided comfort, but it brought Rosa and the family a profound sense of peace. Rosa demonstrated her strong faith and love of God throughout her life and always said that she would be on Earth “hasta que Diosito quiera.” God has called his daughter home. They would also like to thank Dr. Trigenis from Doctor’s Hospital of Laredo, Dr. Cigarroa, Dr. Zúñiga-Goldwater, and Rosario Arellano from Joe Jackson Funeral Chapels, for their expert and compassionate care.
A personal note from the family: Mom, (Grandma) was our anchor. She was such an amazing woman, and we all turned to her for support. Now she will forever be our beacon of light, guiding us throughout our journey so that we may never lose our way. Your courage, strength, and faith were an inspiration to us all. We love you and will miss you so much. You are forever in our hearts.
