Rosa Gonzalez

Mrs. Rosa R. Gonzalez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law was called into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 85.

Rosa was born on August 30, 1932 in Durango, Durango, Mexico. A woman of immaculate work ethic, she instilled into all of her children the spirit of hard work, honesty, and integrity in everything they do. Her humble beginnings led her to teach all of her children that in order to accomplish a “good life” you have to work hard to achieve your goals. She was a woman of great faith who entrusted in the Lord to guide her to raise her children. Her wisdom and strength inspired all of her children to succeed. She enjoyed the simple things in life but most of all, her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Reyes and Tomasa Torres Reyes; her husband, Pedro Gonzalez, Jr.; her siblings, Guadalupe Reyes de Fernandez and Felipe Reyes; as well as by her grandchildren, Gabriel Gonzalez and Melanie Gonzalez.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Leonardo Reyes; and her eight children, Pedro (Linda) Gonzalez, III, Leticia (Antonio) Molina, Eduardo (Graciela) Gonzalez, Carlos Gonzalez, Jose Luis Gonzalez, Maria de Lourdes (Stephen) Dzurenda, Jorge (Helki) Gonzalez, and Sylvia (David) Parsons. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 25, 2018, departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
