Rosa Garcia

Our Lord Jesus Christ gathered Rosa Maria Cuellar Garcia, in His arms at the age of 79 on May 23, 2013. She died peacefully surrounded by family and friends at her home in Laredo, Texas. She was born July 05, 1933 in Laredo, Texas the youngest of three children, to Luis and Amelia Cuellar.

Rosa known affectionately as "Tita" graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1951. She worked for the Laredo Independent School District for 11 years.

Even as a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of all who came to know and love her. Her signature gift of joy, shown throughout her constant smiling, laughter and joking around will never be forgotten.

Tita lived life to its fullest and faced health challenges bravely and courageously. She gained strength by her belief in God and placed her trust in Him.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben Garcia Jr.; her parents, Luis and Amelia Cuellar Sr.; and her brother, Luis Cuellar, Jr.

She is survived by her beloved children, Benny L. Garcia, Elsa (Rudy) Miles,-and Jorge Alberto (Mary) Garcia; sister, Gloria (Jesus) Cantu; nephew, "J.R." Cantu; grandchildren, Melissa Botello, Maggie (Rodolfo) Munoz, Marcus Botello, and Jorge Garcia Jr.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from too many people to name individually; including her physicians, Dr. Adonis Zuniga Goldwater, Dr. Carlos Llanes, La Esperanza Home Health (Carlos Ramirez), Blakey Medical (Frank Campos, Trey Hughes), Tony Martinez Pharmacy, Altus Hospice (Hector Alaniz, Jose Alvarado); caregivers, Blanca Morales, Leti Castillo, Sol Juarez, Mari Flores, Yaneth Alvarado, and Maria Luisa Martinez.

Pallbearers will be: Ben L. Garcia, Jorge A. Garcia, Rudy Miles, "J.R." Cantu, Jorge Garcia Jr., and Marcus Botello.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Alfonso "Poncho" Cuellar, Franck Cardenas, Gustavo Garcia, and Jesse Cantu.
