RODOLFO V. MERCADO

MAY 25, 1929 - JULY 29, 2016

On Friday, July 29, 2016, heaven gained an angel when Rodolfo V. Mercado was called to return to the house of his heavenly father. Our loss is heaven's gain.

Rodolfo was a devoted family man, husband, the greatest father and grandfather as well as being the most caring person you'd ever meet.

He was employed by and retired from the Texas Mexican Railroad for many years. He will be remembered as an overall kind hearted man with an ever present willingness to help others.

Mr. Mercado is preceded in death by his parents: Presiliano and Paula Mercado; brothers: Jesus, Trinidad, Omar, Felix and Fernando Mercado as well as by one sister: Lilia Mercado.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his spouse: Emilia Cuellar Mercado; children: Blanca M. (Rufino) Garza, Lupita (+ Gilberto) Mercado-Garza, Cynthia (Alfredo) Mercado-Rodriguez and Veronica (Fred) Mercado-Payle; grandchildren: Edgardo (Mayte) Garza, Ivy Denise (Juan Jose) Romero, Marina Marilyn Garza, Gilberto Garza Jr., Rodolfo Andres Garza, Alexandra Garza, Fernando Omar Garza, Fredrick Joseph Payle and further more is survived by his beloved 4 great grandchildren and sister Andrea M. Barron. In addition to the immediate family, Rodolfo is also beloved and missed by a great number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, the 1st of August 2016 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd., Laredo, TX 78041 ; a Vigil and Rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m.

A funeral procession will depart the funeral chapel on Tuesday, the 2nd of August 2016 at 11:30 a.m. to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 555 E. Del Mar Blvd, Laredo, TX 78041 , where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
