Roberto Garcia

November 28, 1937 — February 9, 2013

Roberto "Robe" R. Garcia passed away peacefully Saturday, February 09, 2013 in his hometown of Laredo, TX at the age of 75. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Arturo and Hortencia Rodriguez Garcia on November 28, 1937 in Laredo, he was educated and raised here.-He graduated at the age of 15 from Martin High School Class of '52 and proceeded to begin his post high school education at Laredo Junior College and then St. Mary's University; where shortly after he joined the US Air Force in 1955.-It was during this service that he travelled throughout the world serving his country proudly.-Being a member of the US Armed Forces was nothing new for Robe since his family has a long list of service members.-His service to his country was something that came natural and was very proud of having done so with an open heart.-

Robe was a well rounded and educated person who also became the world's greatest dad.-His heart, energy and time were given to his beautiful daughters.-He loved and cared for them until his last days.-His heart was even further given to his adored and beloved grandchildren whom will forever hold their grandfather's memory in their hearts.

In his later years, he enjoyed many friendships that have lasted many years.-His most memorable moments were the Monday night football games, spending time at the ranch and of course, it goes without saying, the numerous nights spent with his friends playing cards.-It is more than likely that as soon as his eyes closed here on earth and opened in heaven, he reunited with his friends who predecease him and organized a game of cards.

Many were the memories that are etched in our hearts and minds and as we prepare to say farewell and until we meet again, we shall forever hold them near and dear to us.-We thank God for the many years he blessed him with and for the friendships forged throughout the years.

Thank you "Robe" for all the wonderful memories and good times.-May you rest in peace in the company of the angels and saints.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents Arturo Garcia Sr. and Hortencia Rodriguez-Garcia; his brothers Arturo Garcia Jr. and Ricardo Garcia; and his beloved friends Roger C. Rocha and Joe M. Azios.
