Roberto C. “El Viejon” Ortiz

Mr. Roberto C. “El Viejon” Ortiz, 71, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 5, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonel and Emilia Ortiz; and his brother Leonel Ortiz, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Denise (Rick) Garcia, Sr., Roberto C. Ortiz, Jr., Emily (Jesus) Lara, Angelica Ortiz; his grandchildren, Francisco and Ricardo Garcia, Jr., Geronimo Lopez and Samantha Valdez, Ericka, Maria Guadalupe, Robert III, and Marisol Ortiz, Brandon Lee and Andrew Jayden Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Roberto Leonel Ortiz, Edgar Joel Valdez; and brothers, Luis (Mary) Ortiz, and Alfredo (Carmina) Ortiz. He also survived by other numerous loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Wednesday evening, April 10, 2019 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 719 Loring at Cortez; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning, April 11, 2019 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels for a chapel service at 9:00 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Robert “Gordo” Ortiz, Jr., Robert “Pelon” Ortiz III, Jerry Lopez, Frankie Garcia, Alfredo Ortiz, Jr., Leonel Arispe, Jesus Lara, and Ricky Garcia, Jr.
