Our beloved father and friend, Roberto "Beto" Narvaez, 71, went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of January 31, 2012.
Roberto was born in San Luis, Potosi, to Jose C. and Guadalupe Narvaez. Roberto came to the United States in 1955 with his parents and siblings. He then became a Unites States Citizen and strived to pursue his dream of becoming a successful business man. He worked and studied hard to obtain his Master's Electrician License. Roberto went on to open Narvaez Electric and Air Conditioning, with the support of his long-time friends, Mr. Mauricio Alexander and Mr. Gary Jacobs, and he enjoyed many, many years of success.-In addition to his electrical business, he also opened, and successfully ran for many years, La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant. Roberto also enjoyed his involvement in the political ring for many years, and for his dedication and commitment, he befriended much of the Laredo community. Roberto continued his business with his latest venture, Narvaez Sales and Service and shared in the success of his wife's business, Narvaez Flower and Gift Shop. Roberto was also appointed and served on one of the City of Laredo's Building Committees.
Roberto "El Rey"-will always be remembered as a man who loved his ranchero and mariachi music. We will always remember him as a great friend and companion.
Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Jose C. and Guadalupe Narvaez; his siblings, Fernando "Paloma" Narvaez and Concepcion "Concha" Narvaez-Rubio.
Roberto is survived by his wife, Martha Narvaez; his children, Melissa (Jesse) Narvaez, Lupita (Robert) Narvaez-Eads, Roberto "Bobby" (Erica) Narvaez Jr., Francisco A. Narvaez; grandchildren, Monica A. Narvaez, Rudy Vedia Jr., and Roberto "Robbie" A. Eads Jr. Roberto is also survived by his step-children, Mario Valdez, Veronica Valdez, Jose Valdez; grandchildren, Juliana, Martha, Miguel Angel, Mario Jr., Briana, Ivanna, Ayleen, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Roberto is also survived by his siblings, Jose (Concha) Narvaez, Rosa, Carlos (Emma) Narvaez, Mario (Placida) Narvaez, Juan (Liz) Narvaez, and Salvador (Olie), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous other relatives.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Cesar Tula, State Rep. Richard Raymond, Mr. Elmo Lopez, Doctors Hospital Staff and Laredo Home Health for all of their assistance during this difficult time.
