Robert "Tommy" McCain, 57 years of age, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and Friend, entered into eternal rest Monday, September 17, 2012. Tommy was born August 15, 1955 in San Antonio, but lived most of his life in Laredo, where he met his sweetheart and future wife, Nora York McCain. Their marriage of 37 wonderful years was blessed with five children who he adored, and six grandchildren who he doted on.
Life would prove challenging but nothing was impossible. A self-educated man, Tommy was an entrepreneur who worked tirelessly alongside his loving wife. As a small business owner, he experienced great difficulty and great success. His ventures varied from industry to industry as he proved that there was no skill he couldn't master. He lived his life to provide for his family and helped countless people through his generosity and kindness.
Tommy was passionate about many things, but was the happiest when he was with his family at the ranch or at home. He had a strong and loving personality, a beautiful smile, and a twinkle in his eyes that allowed everyone to see into his soul. He was a man of honor and integrity and had a heart of gold. He was full of life, mischief, and laughter. Tommy remains the light and love of our lives and his passing has left a void in the hearts of all those who ever knew and loved him. He is, and will forever be, dearly missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents: James Van and Alice McCain, and his father-in-law: Raymond York.
He is survived by his loving wife: Nora McCain; children: Melanie (Alfredo Montemayor, Jr.)McCain, Alyce McCain, Robert T. McCain, Jr.(Rosy Lopez), Shelby McCain, Brianna McCain (Oscar Caballero); grandchildren: Alfredo "Trey" Montemayor, III., Hayden Montemayor, Krysta McCain, Nathan Garcia, Jared A. McCain, Kevin A McCain; brothers and sister: James (Patti) McCain, David McCain, and Yvonne M. (David) Rodriguez.-He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives and friends.
