ROBERT JOHN GRIESSEL JR.
Mr. Robert John Griessel, Jr., 72 entered into eternal rest at his home on Saturday, September 26, 2020 after a long-term illness.
Bobby, as he was known by friends and family was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. In 1970, Robert along with his parents Robert, Sr. and Zulema establish Laredo Coin & Gift, a.k.a. Casa de Flores. In 2005, Robert decided to become an educator and taught 4th grade science and social studies at McDonnell Elementary School until his retirement in 2016.
He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs never missing a game on TV. For the past 20 years he enjoyed attending DCI (Drum Corp. Int’l.) in San Antonio and watching the DCI International Championship at Cinemark.
Bobby leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and memories that will forever be cherished by us, especially having taught us to relax and enjoy life, such as was his love to travel in and around the United States and other places. He taught us to enjoy all the places we visited.
We would like to express our most sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora and Altus Hospice for their compassion, care, attention and dedication to Bobby’s healthcare as well as the support to our family provided during his illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Zulema Wise Griessel Sr; wife, Graciela R. Griessel, in-laws: Ernesto and Maria Luisa Ramos and Roberto Lopez.
