Rita Ayala Centeno passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the age of 90 years. She was born on April 29, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Ignacio and Maria Guadalupe Ayala. Mrs. Rita A. Centeno was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all of her family and those who got to know her. She is preceded in death by her husband: Antonio Centeno; sons: Enrique Centeno and Gabriel Centeno; parents: Ignacio Ayala and Ma. Guadalupe Sevilla de Ayala; and 12 siblings. She is survived by her sons: Jesus (Ana Ruth) Centeno, Juan (Debbie) Centeno, Ignacio (Rosa Maria) Centeno, Antonio Centeno; daughters: Isidora (Roberto) Renteria, Teresa Centeno, Sylvia (Daniel) Canales; brothers and sister: Elias Ayala, Salvador Ayala, Maria de los Angeles Cortez; 35 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nephews, nieces, and other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5 to 9 in the evening at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Rosary will commence at 7 in the evening. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 departing the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
