February 02, 1926 - July 23, 2016

Mr. Reynaldo Sanchez, 90, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 23, 2016 after a lengthy illness with ALS. He was born on February 02, 1926 in Laredo, Texas to his parents Lazaro Sanchez and Hortencia Cantu. Reynaldo served as Corporal for the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II; receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1946. He then completed his career working for the State of Texas as a Department of Highways engineer.

Reynaldo Sanchez was preceded in death by his wife Florinda Sanchez; parents, Lazaro Sanchez and Hortencia Cantu; his sister Hortencia Lopez; his brothers, Raul Sanchez (twin brother), Lazaro Sanchez, Humberto Sanchez, and Jose Maria Sanchez.

He is survived his sisters-in-law, Maria Carmen Sanchez and Mary Lou B. Garcia. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to his caregivers, Tula Mendoza, Rosa Maria Lopez, Inocencia Garcia, and especially Eleuterio Camarillo, Jr. Also, to his physician Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora, and the nurses and staff of Altus Hospice who provided excellent care and attention during his time of need.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Road; where a Vigil and Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2016 at San Luis Rey Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 a.m. The family encourages everyone to meet at the church.

The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery, along with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Marine Corps and the local American Legion.
