Rebeca Lopez

Rebeca P. Lopez, 91, peacefully went home to meet her Creator surrounded by her daughters on January 28, 2018.

She was a vibrant soul who dedicated her life to Almighty God and her four daughters. She was always ready to give of herself unselfishly to her sisters in Christ and her church. She served as a Deacon and later as Elder at Sinai Presbyterian Church. One of her interests in church was participating in the Woman's church group, as well as singing "Alto" in the choir. She received several recognitions for her long-term service in the church and just recently was awarded a plaque for life-time of service and dedication at Sinai Church. She later became a member of La Trinidad Methodist Church. Our beloved mother’s memory shall be cherished forever in our hearts and minds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Elena Perez, brothers Felipe and Elias Perez, her daughter, Magdalena Lopez and grandson Gabriel Lopez.

Left to cherish her memory are: Esther L. (Roberto Jr.) Flores, Graciela Lopez, Rebecca L. (Oscar D. Jr.) Garcia; grandchildren: Veronica (Jerry) Ramirez, L. Patricia (Sergio "Bo") Gonzalez, Roberto III (Sheryl) Flores, Adriana (Erik) Ommen, Raquel Lopez, Ernesto Lopez, Jr., Melissa (Juan) Garcia, Elena Rebecca (Mark A.) Martinez; great grandchildren: Aidan J. Ramirez, Coraline Ramirez, Olivia Grace Gonzalez, Robert Archer Flores, Anahi Lana Flores, Oscar Ace Martinez, Vincent “Vinny” M. Martinez, Gabrielle Laure Ommen, Jacqueline Reneé Ommen, Monique Giselle Ommen, Brittney Moreno, Mirabella A. Garcia, Julianna E. Garcia and numerous other family members and friends.

Much love and gratitude goes out to her care providers: Elizabeth Ochoa, Adriana Hernandez, Rebeca Garcia, Mague Moreno, Maria Luisa Martinez, Santitos Gaytan, Cordy Liendo, Rosa Olivares and neighbors and friends that would lend a hand unselfishly, including Maria Mills, Gloria Saldana and Bernie Valdez.

An immense gratitude to Dr. Milton Haber who provided life-long care for over 30 years, Laredo Specialty nurses, staff and case manager Modesta Ramirez, Doctor's Hospital nurses, staff and CNAs from ICU, Med-l, third and fourth floor, Dr. Bicheng Nan, nephrologist who provided much tender care during her dialysis sessions, Dr. Rafael J. Deliz, Pulmonary Specialist who cared for mom's well-being in her most delicate stages of illness, Dr. Fernando Sanchez, neurologist and Dr. Fernando Sanchez, infectious disease specialist, Dr. Jedd Wells for making those house calls and making my mom's feet feel well again and Dr. Amador Flores, Jr. for providing delicate eye care appointments.

We also acknowledge the agencies that assisted her: Davita Dialysis Center, nursing staff and administration, APC Home Health, Nurses on Wheels nursing staff: Vicky Gonzalez, RN, Anny Hernandez, RN, Melissa Castillo, PT, Nora Martinez, RN, Melissa Garcia, RN, Mary Garcia, RN, Joe Moreno, PT, Healing Hands, Lizbeth Rivera and staff , Primary Ambulance Service, STAR Ambulance Service and their entire staff for their kind and gentle service with our mother, Restoration Medical, Mr. Robert Garcia, for providing punctual and excellent service with all medical equipment and supplies, Med Mart, HEB Pharmacy North Creek pharmacists and staff.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd., from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A religious service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

A final viewing will be held from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the funeral chapel. Procession will form and will depart at 10 a.m. to the Laredo City Cemetery for the interment.

Serving as pallbearers are: Roberto Flores III, Ernesto Lopez, Jr, Mark Anthony Martinez, Juan Andres Garcia, Jerry Ramirez, Erik John Ommen and Juan Sergio "Bo" Gonzalez.
