RAUL SANCHEZ

February 5, 1926 – February 11, 2025

 Raul Sanchez, 99, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. 

 Raul proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, a testament to his courage and commitment to his nation. After the war, he channeled his strong work ethic and passion into a successful career as a building contractor, where he contributed significantly to constructing homes that nurtured families and communities. His craftsmanship was paralleled only by his generous spirit, as he was known for the care he poured into every project and for the kindness he extended to those around him.

 A loving father to his daughter, Alicia Sanchez, Raul embodied the qualities of tenderness and humor. He was noted for his sweet disposition and ability to light up a room with his quick wit. In his later years, Raul cherished the simple pleasures of life, often beaming with joy as he rode his scooter around town, greeting friends and neighbors along the way.

 He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Antonia Sanchez; and his sons Dr. Ramiro Sanchez & Roberto Sanchez.

 Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Alicia Sanchez (Jose) Rico; Aida Flores and his son Ricardo Sanchez; grandson Johnathan Segueda (Victoria Gonzalez), 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous, other relatives, and friends.

 The family will be receiving condolences on Friday evening, February 21, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Prayer service will commence at 7 p.m.

 Chapel service will be conducted on Saturday morning, February 22, 2025 departing at 10:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels.

 Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard.

 Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the City of Laredo Cemetery.
