RAUL RODRIGUEZ
Mr. Raul Rodriguez was called to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the age of 86 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and a “compadre” to everyone he met. He was an Army Veteran and worked as a construction foreman for Watkins Bridge Co. / Jascon Inc., for 30 years where he worked on numerous projects. Family was of the utmost importance to him. He had a deep level of responsibility to care for his immediate family as well as his siblings and their families. He was an outstanding member of the community. He provided a level of excellence by serving in the Army, building bridges, and all other aspects of his life. He left his mark in the city of Laredo and the state of Texas with amazing building projects. Projects included the LCC railroad bridge crossing, International Bridge #2 and the IH 35 Washington Street / Railroad underpass; everything he built, he built to last. He always had something to say and was ready to tell you the origin story, the back story, and one more story for good measure. There’s nothing he liked more than spending time “platicando” over a cup of coffee. Mr. Rodriguez will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Berta Salinas Rodriguez; son Jose Angel Rodriguez, parents: Juvencio Sr. and Concepcion M. Rodriguez; brother: Armando (Anita) Rodriguez; brother Juvencio Rodriguez, Jr.
He is survived by his beloved children: Ana Rosa (John) Muñoz, Raul Jesus (Gina) Rodriguez, Ramon Juvencio (Martha) Rodriguez, 5 precious grandchildren: Samantha Marie Rodriguez, Nicole Gina Rodriguez, Sandra Lucinda Muñoz, John Casimiro Muñoz and Jazmine Rodriguez. Mr. Rodriguez is further survived by his sister: Herlinda Rodriguez; sister-in-law: Yolanda Rodriguez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
