Raul J. Guzman, Jr., 82, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 31, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Guzman was a native Laredoan and resided in this city all his life. He attended Martin High School. He served in the Korean Conflict and attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a degree in marketing and advertising. He was employed as General Manager with Rollins Outdoor Advertising, and later Lamar Outdoor Advertising until his retirement. Mr. Guzman was a proud member of the Laredo Rotary Club and held a perfect attendance record for 37 years. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raul J. and Victoria Guzman and his brother, Sergio Guzman.
Mr. Guzman is survived by his beloved wife, Adelina; his three children, Delia Judith (Justo), Raul (Mary Beth), and Laura Elena (Kevin); nine grandchildren, James, Justen, and Nicholas Gonzalez, Matthew, William and Claire Guzman, and Kristen, Lindsey, and Randall Knutson; brother, Carlos (Maria Josefina); sisters, Nancy Mayers and Delia Guzman; and sister-in-law, Laura Fuentes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be: Raul J. Guzman, Justo P. Gonzalez, Kevin Knutson, Edward Andrews, Carlos E. Guzaman, Jr., G. Alfonso Fuentes and D. Antonio Fuentes.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Manuel "Gero" Benavides, Fernando Cuellar, Dave Leyendecker, Richard W. "Dick" Newbury, and Dale Zuck.
