"I cried when you passed away. I still cry today. Although I loved you dearly, I couldn't make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me he only takes the best."
Mr. Raul C. Peña was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, with his loving family at his side in San Antonio, Texas.
Raul was a devoted, loyal, loving, hardworking and supportive son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a selfless man that would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Raul met his beloved spouse of 59 years, Maria del Rosario Herrera in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas at a Quinceañera in 1956 and two years later, the bond of love turned into a marriage of close to sixty years. The bond of marriage produced six children, who now carry the legacy of a wonderful pair.
Raul supported his family throughout his life and was known to many of clients by having been an insurance agent for several companies for over 30 years. He also worked for Hachar Department Store, Plaza Hotel Engineering Department, as well as becoming a store owner, Grethel’s Gifts and Toys and for the last 20 years he ventured into real estate.
