RAQUEL ALVARADO DE LOS SANTOS
MAY 11, 1941 – OCTOBER 9, 2021
Raquel Alvarado De Los Santos, 80, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Raquel was born to Felix Alvarado and Zoila De Los Santos on May 11, 1941, in Villa Frontera Coahuila, Mexico. She graduated from La Normal de Saltillo with a Bachelor of Education and attended Holding Institute in Laredo, TX. She worked at L.N.B. for 36 years.
Her favorite song was Amor Eterno. She loved sweet Mexican bread and enjoyed spending time watching novellas, especially “Te Acuerdas de Mi.” Which those who were blessed to know her would respond to this novela title; ALWAYS and FOREVER!
Raquel was passionate about gardening and visiting family whenever possible. She made it a point to keep in touch with her sisters and extended family throughout Mexico. She will be missed by all those who carry the strong De Los Santos heritage and those who were lucky enough to have known her. Viva Mexico!
She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister Ruth Garcia
Left to cherish her memory are Zoila Raquel (Adrian) Garcia, Sophia (Albert) De Leon, Myrna Selina (Armando) Villarreal, Sylvia (Blas) Laulom. Her beloved grandchildren Alejandro, Carlos and Adria Luis Garcia. Sandra Cecilia, Mario, Alberto Carlos, and Alejandro Alberto De Leon, Thomas Feliz Kirkpatrick, Anthony Bryan Kirkpatrick, Armando Miguel Villarreal, Christopher and Joshua Laulom. She Will be missed by all including her sisters Rebecca Zertuche and Margarita Villanueva and their families.
She left a strong and beautiful legacy, always leading by example of a strong and willful attitude of getting things done. When all others looked down, Raquel looked straight forward and kept things going. You can do it! Her second love… books! Our mother read, read and read some more. Always finding a solution. Raquel supported her family through the many difficulties of their lives, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. “Education is the key to success” was her motto
