Mr. Ramiro O. Laurel, 87, was called by the Supreme Commander in Heaven on Sunday, October 1, 2017, having been surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Laurel was born in Laredo, Texas to Amado and Manuelita Laurel and proudly served his country in the US Army and during the Korean War. Ramiro was a kind, honest, humble, hard-worker and a fighter until his passing. He was a salesman for over 30 years at JC Penny.

He is preceded in death by his spouse: Rebecca Laurel; parents: Amado & Manuela Laurel; siblings: Rodolfo Laurel, Amado (Bertha) Laurel, Jose (Yolanda) Laurel, Maria (Jose) Ruiz, Elia (Oscar) Lawson, Irene (Daniel) Sanchez and Gustavo (Tomasita) Laurel.

Left behind to cherish his memories are his children and step children: Anna Laura (Enrique Nora Jr.) Peña, Diana (Jose Luis) Martinez, Leticia Laurel, Bernardo (Mary) Laurel, Jorge Laurel, Gabriel (Angie) Hernandez, Jesus (Hilda) Hernandez, Elizabeth (Gerardo) Galvan; sister-in-law: Olga Laurel, as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to CIMA Hospice and the staff and care received at Retama Manor Nursing Center West.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral cortege will depart the chapel on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 9:50 a.m. to Christ the King Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
