Primo Guzman

January 24, 1934 — April 5, 2025

Laredo, Texas

Mr. Primo Guzman, 91, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Primo Guzman was a man who lived life to the fullest, always embracing the simple joys that brought him happiness. Born with a passion for culinary arts, he was an exceptional cook who delighted in preparing delicious meals for his loved ones. Whether he was experimenting with new recipes or baking his signature desserts, Primo’s kitchen was a place of warmth, love, and creativity.

In addition to his culinary talents, Primo had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He found great pleasure in tending to his garden, nurturing plants with the same care and patience he extended to everyone around him. His green thumb brought beauty to his home and brought him a sense of peace.

Primo’s love for music was especially evident in his fondness for the timeless songs of Pedro Infante. His favorite melodies filled his home, accompanying him as he went about his daily routines or relaxed after a busy day. Music and family were his constant companions, and he cherished both deeply.

A lifelong fan of baseball, Primo never missed an opportunity to catch a game and share in the camaraderie of the sport. Whether watching a local game or cheering on his favorite teams, he always had a special place in his heart for the sport.

In his free time, Primo enjoyed the thrill of playing Bingo, an activity he shared with friends and family at community events and local halls. He also found joy in the bright lights and excitement of Las Vegas, often making trips to the city for a taste of adventure. His love for games and chance extended to his visits to the casino in Eagle Pass, where he relished the opportunity to try his luck.

Primo’s life was filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a passion for the things he loved.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Adrian Hernandez; his parents, Pedro and Maria De Jesus Guzman.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 69 years of marriage, Juana Guzman; his children, Sylvia (Victor) Nassar, Graciela (Jesus Rigoberto) Torres, Rosa (Armando) Hernandez, Juanita (Daniel) Moreno, Primo Joel (Adriana) Guzman, and Alejandro Guzman; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; his brother Ruben (†Blanca) Guzman; as well as by extended relatives and friends.
