Patricia G. Martinez

November 20, 1967 – April 9, 2019

Mother of two, and grandmother to one, Patricia is finally at rest. She fought a near lifelong battle with depression and was ready to move on to her eternal peace. Patricia will live on the hearts of her children, grandchild, brothers and sisters, family and all of the friends she made along her journey. Although parts of her life were difficult, she loved the people close to her and can now keep everybody she loves close to her.

In her time, the one thing Patricia loved the most was spending time with her granddaughter, Penelope, age 5. Taking trips to the Texas State Capitol in Austin, to the nearby park, or to the library, Patricia never hesitated in accepting her granddaughter's love.

Patricia was a strong woman. Moving to San Antonio with only $600 with her son Patrick Martinez in the Summer of 2010 with no place to live she was able to become self-sufficient, start working and rent an apartment. Life was not easy but Patricia always made it work. Patricia also lived in an apartment rented with Martin Martinez where they took care of each other.

Her two sons loved her so much. Although life was difficult at times, the love never waned, and it is hard to accept what has happened. Patricia would love it if we were happy, moved on and became the best people we can be. She is now at rest.

Surviving her are her sons: Martin Martinez and Patrick Martinez; granddaughter: Penelope Martinez; mother: Guadalupe Maya; siblings: Alejandra (Jose) Yepez, Lucio (Pati) Sanchez, Christina (Lauro) Garza, Eduardo (Gaby) Maya, Claudia (Juan) Escobedo, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 from 11 am until 1 pm at Joe Jackson North Funeral & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.
