Oscar M. Rodriguez, 92, passed away early Thursday morning on February 9, 2017. Oscar M.
Rodriguez was a devout Catholic, veteran, businessman, rancher, and a loving husband. He
was also a caring and compassionate father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was born on July 27, 1924 in Laredo, Texas. He faithfully served his country in the Army Air
Force between 1943 and 1946 where he contributed to the 450th Army Air Force Base Unit.
Oscar returned to Laredo and quickly joined his father in business and later married Gloria
Rosenbaum Rodriguez.

His greatest passions were love of family, ranching, playing golf and taking things apart and
fixing them. He was also the strongest and most determined person we knew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel J. Rodriguez and Lamar Sanchez; sisters,
Lydia (Rafael) Cordero, Sylvia (Alfredo) Gongora, Maria Elsa "Elsie" Perez; brothers, Luis
(Betty) Rodriguez, Manuel J. (Hilda) Rodriguez, Jr., Jose Barrera, and Modesto Vasquez.

He is survived by his children: Oscar E. (Diana) Rodriguez, Martha G. (James) Humphries, and
Roberta (Ruben) Lopez, Jr.; grandchildren: Cristina (Andrew) Baumgardner, Andrea (Brian) Lee, Oscar O. (Doreen) Pena, Karl W. Pena, Karina L. and Nicolas S. Lopez; and greatgrandchildren:Natalie, Lauren, and Kathryn Baumgardner, Jacob Lee, Nicolas, Ever, Christo,and David Pena.He is further survived by his brother, Reynaldo H.(Alicia) Rodriguez, Sr.; sisters, NormaVasquez, and Lamar Gloria Barrera; as well as by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

We would like to thank our extended family, friends and all who knew him for their prayers and
support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, (alz.org).

The visitation will be held at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel, 1410 Jacaman Road on February 14, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. The funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 10:10 a.m. to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will then continue to the Calvary Catholic Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
