Oralia Cantu de Garza

Oralia Cantu de Garza, 88, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Thursday, October 01, 2020.

Oralia was a woman of great faith, abundant compassion, and unconditional love. Spending time with her family and caring for her loved ones was always her top priority. As devoted as she was to her loved ones, she was equally bright and scholarly. As an academic, and during her adolescence, she finished high school when she was only 16 years old. She attended St. Augustine High School, Laredo Junior College, and ultimately graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University where she earned her Bachelor’s with a Double Major in Biology and Chemistry. Her intellect, warm nature, and radiant sophisticated charm will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Humberto Garza Flores; son, Luis Alfredo Garza Cantu; parents, Carlos P. Cantu, Sr. and Oralia Martinez Cantu; and brother, Carlos P. Cantu, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Humberto Garza Cantu, Oralia (Armando) Garza de Echavarria, and Jose Carlos (Elma Lilia) Garza Cantu; sister, Graciela (Raymond) Cantu Botello; grandchildren, Armando and Oralia Echavarria, Alejandra (Alfredo) Lopez, Jose Carlos Garza, Maria Renata (Javier) Leal, Ximena Maria Garza Gutierrez, Diana Ramona and Kassandra Carolina Garza; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Del Carmen Lopez. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Ramona D. Garza; as well as by numerous niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Private Cremation Services will be held at a later date.
