OLGA S. LAUREL

February 2, 1929 – September 6, 2023

Olga S. Laurel, 94, joined our Lord in His heavenly kingdom on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. She was affectionately called Mama Olga by her family and Olguita by her friends. She was a devout Catholic who loved her church and was always eager to help her family and friends. Mama Olga enjoyed socializing with her friends and she attended all of our family gatherings, social events, and church functions. Always dressed, beautifully. She was very much loved and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Rodolfo Laurel, Sr.; son, Roberto Laurel; siblings, Eloy Serna, Aucensio Serna, Jr., Jose Serna, Prudencio Serna, and Sylvia Peña.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rodolfo (Diana V.) Laurel, Jr., Olga L. Laurel (Mark L.) Herring, and Eduardo (Veronica) Laurel; seven grandchildren, Rodolfo (Erika) Laurel, III., Albert Laurel, Daniel Laurel, Audrey Lynn Mathis, Monica (Gilbert) Rodriguez, Carlos (Stacey) Laurel, and Anali (Alfredo) Canales. Jr.; nine great-grandchildren, Katia Laurel, Madalen Laurel, Liam Laurel, Alberto Laurel, Jr., Giselle Ileana Garza, Giana Rodriguez, Landon Laurel, Gilbert Rodriguez, and Alexia Canales; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, September 23, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2705 McPherson Ave., Laredo, Texas 78040.

Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
