Ofilia Gonzalez, passed away surrounded by her family at the age of 83, she was a cherished mother, devoted servant of the Lord, and a radiant spirit who graced this earth for over 83 years. Born on April 1, 1941, Ofilia embarked on her heavenly journey on February 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and memories that will forever be held dear by those she touched.
A devoted Catholic, Ofilia found solace and strength in her unwavering faith, particularly through her love for the Virgen Mary. She embodied grace and compassion in her daily life, inspiring all around her with her gentle spirit and deep-rooted beliefs. Her faith was intertwined with everything she did, guiding her as a mother, a friend, and an incredible cook who brought her family together with every meal she lovingly prepared.
Ofilia took joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially shopping for the latest fashions that complemented her vibrant personality. Family gatherings were her love language, and she had a unique gift for hosting enchanting garden parties that transformed her home into a haven of laughter, warmth, and connection. She created spaces where stories were shared, and love flourished—a testament to her ability to nurture those she held dear.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gregorio Gonzalez Jr.; parents, Gregorio Juarez and Anita Juarez; sibling, Gregorio Juarez, Marcos Juarez, and Irma Rodriguez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gerardo (Irasema) Gonzalez, Maricela Gonzalez, Elsa (Daniel) Perez Garcia, and Roel (Saul) Gonzalez; grandchildren, Jennifer Heverly, Melissa Gonzalez, Priscilla Gonzalez, Jacob Jasso, Nicky Jasso, Christian Vazquez and Gerardo Vazquez; great-grandchildren; Gianna Lozano, Kayleen Treviño, Rocco Heverly, Rowan Heverly and Bella Rose Torres; sister, Yolanda Santos (Jorge Abdala) as well as numerous, relatives, and friends.
The family will be receiving condolences on Monday evening, February 24, 2025 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will commence at 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday morning, February 25, 2025 departing at 8:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the family plot of the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Gerardo Vazquez, Christian Vazquez, Jacob Jasso, Saul Gonzalez, Gerardo Gonzalez, Kevin Treviño, Albert Esquivel and Nicky Jasso.
