Ofelia Medina

September 1, 2020 — April 5, 2014

Ofelia Medina, a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend left us on April 5, 2014 to join our heavenly family. She was a devoted daughter who lovingly cared for her parents, Nonato and Maria until their passing. As our family matriarch, she extended that loving care to each of us in the form of unwavering support, counsel, and guidance. She worked for Laurel Insurance Agency for many years and later established Medina Insurance Agency, and with her customer-oriented staff, tended to the needs of the Laredo Community. Her business exemplified her character and she autographed it with success. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nonato and Maria Medina; her niece, Sylvia Sada; brothers-in-law, Juan Sada, and Leopoldo Barrera. Ofelia is survived by her two sisters, Ms. Olga Sada (Houston, TX.), and Ms. Belia Barrera (Corpus Christi, TX), along with her nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. . Those who knew and loved her are forever touched by the life she lived and the times she shared with us. She lived and led by examples of dignity, respect, and true, selfless devotion to those she knew, loved, and cared for. Ofelia Medina's legacy is highlighted by an appreciation for life, love, laughter, nature, and the ability to take on each of life's challenges with dignified grace. Our family wishes to convey deep appreciation to Dr. Victor Trevino and the nursing staff at Retama Manor West. We especially want to thank family members, Elsa and Rodolfo Ibarra for their constant care, concern and powerful spiritual support. Additionally, we extend great appreciation and gratitude to our extended family members, Brenda, Berta, Lydia, and Toa who provided our dear Ofelia with around the clock love and care. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapels, 719 Loring @ Cortez from 5 to 9 in the evening. A Rosary will be celebrated at 7 in the evening.
