Ninfa Persohn

Ninfa Vidaurri Persohn, 77, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 21, 2015. Ninfa was the eldest of her siblings and raised them like a mother after the passing of her parents. She graduated from Martin High School in 1955 and went on to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Education at Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas in 1960. Ninfa followed her passion to teach until her retirement in 2001. Ninfa's faith was always present. As a devout and fervent Catholic, she passed on her faith to her beloved children and grandchildren. Her memory will be forever blessed and remembered by all who knew her and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Florencia Vidaurri. Ninfa is survived by her children, Leroy L. (Belinda) Persohn IV, Roy Gene (Patricia) Persohn, Debbie Ann (Stephen) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Lewis Persohn V, Lisette Marie Persohn, Alexandria Persohn, Sabrina Lee Ann Rodriguez; siblings, Ofelia (Robert) Vidaurri- Plante, Abel (Avelina) Vidaurri Jr., Maria (James) Vidaurri O'Neill, Selinda (Hugo) Vidaurri Garcia; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Joe Jackson Heights Funeral Chapel, 719 Loring at Cortez. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral procession will depart on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Hugo David Garcia, Marco Antonio Garcia, Joseph Michael Garcia, David Degollado, Aldo Flores, Ruben Solis, and Joseph Garcia.
